"Autumn Splendor, 2014" by Marc Todd

“After a Summer spent painting wild flowers, Autumn is the time when this landscape painter's focus moves upwards, as the leaves on the trees turn yellow, orange and red, and the sky often takes on a lilac hue, that sets off these beautiful colours perfectly. Winter is just around the corner, and the leaves will soon be gone...but whist it lasts, Autumn is truly a time to be inspired!” This weekend, save 25% on Marc Todd's impressionist acrylic paintings in our advent calendar - https://www.artfinder.com/advent-calendar/

"The Lovers, 2014" by Helen Wells

“A beautiful abstract watercolour painting which is detailed, dynamic and positive. It depicts a visually rich, illusionary organic landscape, and was inspired by the concept of love and two people joining together. I made this work by adding multiple layers of watercolour paint on top of one another. The piece was then finished with delicate hand drawn detailing. Painted on 100% pure cotton paper.” This December, save 20% on Helen Wells' original watercolour paintings in our advent calendar - https://www.artfinder.com/advent-calendar/

"Blushing Hare, 2014" by Jilly Henderson

“‘Blushing Hare’ is an original drawing in pencil and ink. Texture and detail have been added with the skinniest of pen nibs which creates lots of detail to look at. I draw on hand stained paper which has been worked with the tannins in tea to give each piece of paper I work on a unique look. I love to experiment with abstract shapes and patterns within a drawing and my imagination meanders in a happy way as I draw, using words to tell a small tale within the drawing. How sweet is this little blushing hare...I wonder what happened to make him so?” This December, save 10% on Jilly's ink drawings in our Advent Calendar - https://www.artfinder.com/advent-calendar/

"Wash Day, 2013" by Pedar Dillon

“This painting was inspired by the hard working people of Leeds doing their tedious labour. It must be Monday and time to get the washing out on the line. Painted in oils on canvas, this work was created as a social comment on the the lives of our parents in their two bedroom back to back houses with the outside lavatory. The long summer days, front doors always open, kids playing in the street and the clean laundry strung across the road; the perfect chance to gossip with the neighbours. I wanted to capture this on canvas as the back to back terraces are being replaced and with the advent of modern technology people stay cocooned behind their closed front doors more and more.”

"The Blues, 2013" by Don Wunderlee

“Think of a painting as a collection of vibrations. I am interested in using simple line and shapes as the building blocks in making a painting. As a musician and painter I have come to think that painting is a form of improvisation; it is an unlocking of the imagination, freely done yet each part fosters a counter-part and so on and so on until the overall composition yields a strong sense of harmonic cohesion. Therein lies its meaning.”

"Lime Avenue in Snow, 2011" by Deleted Artist

“A magical winter snow scene full of hope and promise. The Lime Avenue covered in snow that inspired this print is found on Hampstead Heath - one of the green ‘lungs of London’. Snow is never guaranteed so its arrival brings excitement and awe for me every time; this couple embarking on a day or life together might feel the same excitement and anticipation. This is a hand made etching and aquatint with each print being inked up and wiped by hand. The way the metal plate is inked each time is as much part of the creation of the image as the making of the metal plate by dipping in acid. Each inking is slightly different and each print is therefore unique.”

"Electrical Brain, 2014" by Anthony Crammen

‘Electrical Brain’ and ‘Chain Brain’ are two sculptures from a brand new series of original works by Anthony Crammen. They respond to the idea of re-inventing the bust (a traditional subject matter) into an up-to-date contemporary aesthetic, by combining modern man-made materials with anatomical science and giving it an abstract twist. Both sculptures are made from clear resin which allows the viewer to peer inside and through the sculptures to capture intricate details that wouldn't be visible from far away. These works are finished with a sleek white dyed resin base that would suit almost any environment.
