"Première soirée d'automne, 2008" by Gotz

“This painting reflects France, where I was born, and the island of Tahiti, where I am now living. It mixes the phantasmagoria and timelessness of Tahiti, with the seasonality of France. The improbable naked Tahitian woman stands in the warm evening light of autumn in France. The painting is covered with symbols that stand for the Universal, which connects everything, from Humans to the Earth, regardless of origin, sex, belief or geographic localisation.”

"Still Life With Flowers, 2012" by Artur Harutyunyan

“I use bright colors to emphasize the beauty of objects around us, to make them more lively and also to give people an additional dose of positivism.”

"Dignity, 2013" by Alexa Aulds

“‘She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.’ This work is part of my ‘Muses’ series of paintings, each of which is complete with its own quote or words of wisdom. The beauty of the human body takes a central role in many of my paintings. I paint people in a reflective manner, contemplating existence and the universal questions that we all ask. The subjects of my Muses series portray the strength of the human spirit and are intended to inspire the viewer. This acrylic painting is finished with metallic leaf and stud embellishments.”

""Selfportrait as a thief", 2014" by Massimo Tizzano

“Hello, my name is Massimo Tizzano and I'm a figurative painter.I've always been fascinated by the Old Masters. As a self-taught painter, I felt from the beginning that the best way to understand how to paint with oils like them, was to copy their work. For years I have therefore conducted this bold practice that in the East is defined as ‘The art of stealing through the eyes’, copying Titian, Rembrandt, Leonardo, Caravaggio, Vermeer...This self-portrait, in its obvious quote, represents the end of this learning path and a new beginning. My best hope now is that the genius, the power and the magic of the ancients assist this unrepentant ‘thief’!”

"Eduard Bohlen, 2013" by Christian Ghammachi

“Meet the Eduard Bohlen Shipwreck! It ran aground in 1909 near Conception Bay - Namibia. It is about 120 meters long and today lies 800 meters inland, partially covered by sand dunes, and home to two Jackals. It is nearly impossible to reach it and one requires a special license from the government. It took us more than 4 hours by road, across massive dunes and beach strips at low tide to reach it. We had to camp on site to catch the right light and time.”

"Canary Wharf IV, 2012" by Mike Curry

“I was drawn by the complementary blues and oranges of the scene and was inspired to create a painterly scene to capture the energy of such a busy place. It took over 200 shots to get the best spacing of people and the correct strength of blur and direction of movement before I was happy. I got some very strange looks while taking the shots but I get absorbed in my work and forget about everything else. In the end I sort of know instinctively if I have got what I want!”

"Talking with a Parrot" by Anna Ravliuc

“What will happen to a Harlequin when he removes his mask? The same thing as to us when we wake up...return to reality. You can easily learn to wear a clown’s or a king’s mask, yet the most difficult is to learn how to wear the mask of your own face, and do it proudly. Whatever mask I take, more than ever I want to be myself.”

"Catharsis, 2014" by Victoria FitzGerald

“I normally don’t have a detailed idea of a painting when I start out. So I started this painting and kept adding to it – it still didn’t seem ‘balanced’ or ‘look right’. I completely painted over the original painting after I had a really bad day; it was cloudy that day and I thought that some days need to be clouded over and confusing before a feeling of catharsis can make the skies clear again. It was one of those light bulb moments and I couldn’t wait to paint my feelings! This work is from my ‘State of Being’ Alphabet Series, where C is for ‘Catharsis’ (the process of feeling repressed emotion by association with the cause, and elimination by abreaction).”

"Northern Light, 2014" by Kerr Ashmore

“Growing up, I would spend hours, no matter the weather, huddled on the rocks looking out to the North Sea. The wind and the rain would be so cold, but I love that Northern light and it fills me with warmth. The way that ever-changing light can so dramatically transform a landscape or seascape mesmerises and inspires me. My painting ‘Northern Light’ represents this simple love of being home…where the comfort lives. And when I paint, I can be there again.”

"SeaBreeze, 2014" by adam craemer

“The colours of the Australian ocean and land as well as rusty, sea damaged surfaces have inspired the composition of this piece. The textured sections represent weathered elements found along all sea side locations. This piece is derived from the photos taken whilst walking the many sea walks in Western Australia, showing the way nature moulds and weathers man-made structures.”
