Art of the Day: "Whoosh" by Chris Walker

"I was intrigued by the patterns made by a set of swings. In this painting, I wanted to express the freedom of playing on swings with the movement as the swingers whoosh past each other. So, I chose to paint it loosely and quickly without great detail. I left a group of parents and a flower bed as stationary anchors. The parents are representative of the stable protection of the children and the flowers echo the joy."
