Art of the Day: "Walking in the spring rain , 2014" by Aurelija Kairyte-Smolianskiene

“Everybody knows the feeling...The one you get strolling in the warm Spring rain. I live in the Lithuanian countryside, in an animal farm. Springs here are extremely muddy; the melting snow makes the ground go soggy, swell with dampness it cannot contain. The grass is still autumn brown, covered by last year’s leaves. Nevertheless, the Spring slowly seeps in, encouraged by the bright sky, stirring your expectations. The rain is warm, and you can spot the new grass buds cautiously, almost reluctantly emerging from the soaked soil. In this ink painting I wanted to describe the early Spring atmosphere, conveyed by the loose strokes of my brush.”

Alexander Kriushin is works in the traditions of the European school of fine arts, combined with the southern temperament of execution. The artist travels a lot and works en plein air, but often a plain etude is just an excuse for further work, and then the work begins in the studio.

With this painting, I tried to illustrate my meditative state of mind. Gold and everything that shines and has worth are inside us. We must close our eyes to see things clearly and to find our inner treasure. Original acrylic painting. Signed on the front. Unique and one of a kind with a certificate of authenticity.
