“This painting was inspired by the rich and dynamic landscape of the Hafod Estate, near Aberystwyth, mid-Wales. The intense, rich colours of the autumn moss and ripples of water between the crags evoked a moody, atmospheric landscape. The dynamic and layered brush marks evoke a sense of movement between the water and the solid crags of rock that make up the composition. This painting was part of a series of paintings exhibited at the National Assembly of Wales, exhibiting the best of contemporary art in Wales.”

"Barcelona dogs 2, 2015" by Sasha Sokolova
Sasha Sokolova recently worked on the all-painted animated film Loving Vincent. This piece is her take on a summer scene near the beaches of Barcelona. Just back from the beach is a park developed when Barcelona hosted the Olympics and where people often walk or picnic or ride a bike. This “couple” caught her eye because they were both older and from another time, walking across a modern development in Barcelona. A mix of new and old.
