Art of the Day: "The Man in the Blue Jumper, 2011" by Adam Grose MA PGCE

"This is a painting of a man I saw walk past my window in Falmouth, Cornwall in 2011. He stuck in my memory for a few hours after due to the way he stared into my room as I painted, so I picked up my brushes and did this painting to capture that moment; his blue jumper kept sticking in my mind. After painting his image I ran a big brush over the surface to enforce the feeling of a memory - a movement in time."

The artist travels a lot and works en plein air, but often a plain etude is just an excuse for further work, and then the work begins in the studio.

With this painting, I tried to illustrate my meditative state of mind. Gold and everything that shines and has worth are inside us. We must close our eyes to see things clearly and to find our inner treasure. Original acrylic painting. Signed on the front. Unique and one of a kind with a certificate of authenticity.
