Art of the Day: "Sandy Dooley, Autumn Bank, 2013" by Sandy Dooley

“My paintings almost all come from being outside, surrounded and inspired by my rural location and ramshackle garden. I work in layers of paint applied by brush, palette knife, and by dripping paint directly onto the canvas. Spontaneity is a very important part of creating a painting for me. I should do some weeding and cutting back in my flower borders, but I love the colours of this autumn in Kent. The sun filtering through leaves and stalks is an arresting sight. The gentle combination of yellows, green, oranges and pale sunshine is lovely, and the inspiration for 'Autumn Bank', which is full of autumnal tones.” Discover Sandy's promotion in Artfinder's Advent Calendar - https://www.artfinder.com/sandy-dooley

Alexander Kriushin is works in the traditions of the European school of fine arts, combined with the southern temperament of execution. The artist travels a lot and works en plein air, but often a plain etude is just an excuse for further work, and then the work begins in the studio.

With this painting, I tried to illustrate my meditative state of mind. Gold and everything that shines and has worth are inside us. We must close our eyes to see things clearly and to find our inner treasure. Original acrylic painting. Signed on the front. Unique and one of a kind with a certificate of authenticity.
