I entered the RA competition for the first-time because I thought I was onto something with this new style. Grained landscapes and buildings are created from my imagination but have been variously described as American, Scandinavian and just plain warped.”

The artist travels a lot and works en plein air, but often a plain etude is just an excuse for further work, and then the work begins in the studio.
