Art of the Day: "Once Upon a Time there was a City on the Hill" by Tiffany Budd

“I created this fantasy landscape using coloured pencil in muted and sophisticated colours. When I compose together a landscape like this, I imagine who might live there and create a story in my mind. I disappear for a while when I make these pictures! Inspired by the Cubists and Art Deco design, I “fracture” the image, focusing on perspective and light, almost making it abstract - but still recognisable. What do you think is going on in this drawing?”
