Art of the Day: "Nude Behind Shower Glass, 2016" by Ellen Von Wiegand

“I'm fascinated by the endlessly malleable curves and lines of the human body. I'm particularly attracted to portraying the nude in block print for the way that the curvature of the figure contrasts with the rigidity of the material. In this two block print a blue nude is partially concealed by the fogged glass of a shower. This way she is both revealed and meanwhile kept at a distance by the surface that lays between the figure and the viewer.”
