Art of the Day: "Mark Harrison, Colombus Circle, 2006" by Mark Harrison

“This is the Lincoln Centre and Time Warner building at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and West 59th Street with the statue of Colombus just visible at bottom right of the painting. I was painting a lot of New York cityscapes mostly with wet streets and reflections during this period, this one being one of the few still unsold. I painted it over a purple base layer as I wanted to keep most of the colours in pinks and purples. The skyline has probably changed since I painted this!” Discover Mark's promotion in Artfinder's Advent Calendar: https://www.artfinder.com/artist/mark-harrison/sale/

The artist travels a lot and works en plein air, but often a plain etude is just an excuse for further work, and then the work begins in the studio.

"Awareness, 2017" by Suzana Dzelatovic

With this painting, I tried to illustrate my meditative state of mind. Gold and everything that shines and has worth are inside us. We must close our eyes to see things clearly and to find our inner treasure. Original acrylic painting. Signed on the front. Unique and one of a kind with a certificate of authenticity.
