Art of the Day: "One that got away" by Lorna Doyan

“A beautiful dimensional artwork in a vibrant red on white. The butterflies radiate out from the centre of the frame in a circular pattern, which has order and symmetry only broken by one single escaping butterfly. This is a 24crt gold leaf butterfly which adds a preciousness to the piece. The repetitive relief design gives this artwork an abstract, modern feel and reveals the butterfly design on closer inspection. Every butterfly is hand punched and folded and glued with precision. The 3-dimensional aspect creates beautiful shadows which give the artwork a life of its own and changes throughout the day in changing light situations. It comes fitted and framed in a solid box frame.”
