Art of the Day: "Liz McDonough, Metallic Scales, 2013" by Elizabeth McDonough

“Metallic Scales represents fish swimming together in a wave-like motion and expresses how light becomes iridescent. I have a fascination and a great respect for the ocean, with a little fear too. I can’t get enough of the ethereal light as it changes and reflects underneath the water. It always gives me a sense of peace which is something I try to convey. I experimented patiently with different ways of mixing liquid acrylic colours and metallics upon the texture until I had a beautiful iridescence. Layering, mixing colours and layering colours as they were almost dry to blend them.” Discover Liz's promotion in Arfinder's Advent Calendar - https://www.artfinder.com/artist/liz-mcdonough/sale/

Alexander Kriushin is works in the traditions of the European school of fine arts, combined with the southern temperament of execution. The artist travels a lot and works en plein air, but often a plain etude is just an excuse for further work, and then the work begins in the studio.

"Awareness, 2017" by Suzana Dzelatovic

With this painting, I tried to illustrate my meditative state of mind. Gold and everything that shines and has worth are inside us. We must close our eyes to see things clearly and to find our inner treasure. Original acrylic painting. Signed on the front. Unique and one of a kind with a certificate of authenticity.
