Art of the Day: "Laburnum, 2016" by John Halliday

Art of the Day: "Laburnum, 2016" by John Halliday

“The movement of long trails of yellow flowers against the background of green foliage was the inspiration for this abstract impressionist painting. Whilst driving recently I noticed the explosion of colour and movement in these trees, particularly in a garden where they had a group of several trees. The oil paint is applied and built in layers using a palette knife to capture the movement and keeping detail to a minimum to encourage the viewer to imagine the detail themselves and engage with the scene.”

"Carpathians, Summer morning, 2015" by Aleksandr Kryushyn

I'm impressed by the fresh mountain air and bright colours of the Carpathian Mountains! A bright sunny morning in June in a mountain village. Alexander Kriushin is works in the traditions of the European school of fine arts, combined with the southern temperament of execution. The artist travels a lot and works en plein air, but often a plain etude is just an excuse for further work, and then the work begins in the studio.

"Awareness, 2017" by Suzana Dzelatovic

With this painting, I tried to illustrate my meditative state of mind. Gold and everything that shines and has worth are inside us. We must close our eyes to see things clearly and to find our inner treasure. Original acrylic painting. Signed on the front. Unique and one of a kind with a certificate of authenticity.
