I'm impressed by the fresh mountain air and bright colours of the Carpathian Mountains! A bright sunny morning in June in a mountain village. Alexander Kriushin is works in the traditions of the European school of fine arts, combined with the southern temperament of execution. The artist travels a lot and works en plein air, but often a plain etude is just an excuse for further work, and then the work begins in the studio.
"A View From The Ridge is another work in series of mountain landscape paintings, created from memory. The sun sets over the hill illuminating the landscape, the heather and shrub are in tones of pink, purple and ochre. This painting is acrylic on deep edge canvas 50x50cms,5cm deep, the artwork extends around the sides of the canvas . it is signed on the front, sold unframed and ready to hang . The painting was created by applying layers of acrylic with a palette knife, the result creates a textured detail finish to the work (see close up images)."
