Art of the Day: "" I SEE  YOU ", 2014" by William F. Adams

“This acrylic painting of a Horned Owl is one of my favorites. The owl is one of the most stealth predators known, silently flying through the night air. This painting is inspired by my privilege of an encounter with this magnificent bird. One night I looked into my back yard and saw a huge shadow crouched down in the shadows cast by trees on a bright moonlit sky. Coyotes had been running the area so I stepped outside to get a closer look. I approached the shadowy figure with caution when suddenly a giant horned owl raised its head up from feeding and looked straight into my eyes. The moon reflected on its huge eyes, giving them an eery amber glow. Then in an instant it lurched into the sky with a rabbit in its claws dangling precariously. Its wingspan was enormous and startled me as a whoosh of air echoed in the trees. It was gone in a breath...”
