“The idea for this painting came after one of those long discussions I had with my best friend about the perfect partner and the perfect relationship. Putting down on paper criteria, creating categories and allocating level of importance only to conclude that it is a pointless and silly exercise.
There’s no such thing as a perfect relationship. Nevertheless, some imperfections can make a relationship beautiful and worthwhile. This is what I chose to express in my painting - ups and downs, blue days and bright days, perfect lines and not so perfect ones, colour matching and daring combinations.” - Elena Renaudiere
