Art of the Day: "Easy rider, 2017" by Anne Storno

Art of the Day: "Easy rider, 2017" by Anne Storno

“French bulldogs, commonly named Frenchies, are unlikely stars. These piglet-bellied, googly-eyed, bat-eared, lolling-tongued creatures look like a five-minutes-to-closing trolley dash around the dog part store. But the whole is definitely lovelier than the sum of its parts.

You see them everywhere, outside cool cafés and city parks, snuggled into little coats or snoring quietly in their baskets in the corners of smart boutiques. They sit on the chicest laps and attend the glitziest parties. The French bulldog is defintely Fashion.

I have played with the dog image by imaging it like a motorcyclist. The title "Easy Rider" comes from a road film from 1969, tale of a search for freedom (or the illusion of freedom) in a conformist and corrupt America. By placing it in surprising decorum, I try to find humour in day to day life.”

Please note colour may vary (only slightly) in the flesh.

I'm impressed by the fresh mountain air and bright colours of the Carpathian Mountains! A bright sunny morning in June in a mountain village. Alexander Kriushin is works in the traditions of the European school of fine arts, combined with the southern temperament of execution. The artist travels a lot and works en plein air, but often a plain etude is just an excuse for further work, and then the work begins in the studio.

"Awareness, 2017" by Suzana Dzelatovic

With this painting, I tried to illustrate my meditative state of mind. Gold and everything that shines and has worth are inside us. We must close our eyes to see things clearly and to find our inner treasure. Original acrylic painting. Signed on the front. Unique and one of a kind with a certificate of authenticity.
