“This piece was inspired by a day spent walking in the countryside. I came upon a boy who was fishing in a river. I found the scene so unusual that I took some time to contemplate it. The green tones of the landscape, the calm of the river, time stopped for me.”

The artist travels a lot and works en plein air, but often a plain etude is just an excuse for further work, and then the work begins in the studio.
