Art of the Day: "Cobb Hall, University Of Chicago, 2017" by Leon Sarantos

'This contemporary painting displays a lively and colorful cityscape scene on the University of Chicago campus. I’m an architect, as well as an artist, so I really appreciate the Gothic architecture on the UChicago quads. Cobb Hall at the University of Chicago was designed by architect Henry Ives Cobb, and is the oldest building on campus. Cobb modeled his designs after the Gothic style of architecture at Oxford in England. I used my architectural skills to create a realistic portrayal of this elegant building that represents its proportions and depth.'
