Art of the Day: "As Far as the Eye can See, 2014" by John O'Grady

“This is a painting of a special place in Ireland I used to enjoy spending time in. While painting, marks and colours help me recall a memory or a feeling of a place...The open vista from a high viewpoint gives this piece a contemplative quality. It’s evening, the sun casts a burnt orange glow to the bog grasses. A warm feeling fills the atmosphere. Soft diagonal brushstrokes falling from sky to earth and the stream trailing off into the illuminated distance highlight a sensation of serenity. We look at paintings that we feel a connection with. Do you feel it too?”

With this painting, I tried to illustrate my meditative state of mind. Gold and everything that shines and has worth are inside us. We must close our eyes to see things clearly and to find our inner treasure. Original acrylic painting. Signed on the front. Unique and one of a kind with a certificate of authenticity.
