    [REVITALIZATION 3. ARCHIVE] Ziesook YOO_10 Years Self-Portrait The work is made of self-portrait photography taken by the artist every morning over the last decade and a video. If you take one picture a day, you end up having 30 pictures a month. Premier requires thirty frames per second, so if I put one day into one frame, then one month makes one second. The pictures taken over a month turns into a thirty- cut photo montage that goes on for only one second. For a day, when a picture was not taken, it’s all black. One year becomes twelve seconds, and ten years, 120 seconds or two minutes in the video. Given the long hours of several years, the video captures my time in only a couple of minutes. Sounds of daily life were collected and cut per frame and then inserted. As the images are similar at times, the sound is sometimes repeated and gets eerie. Days are interrupted and so is sound. The work is, ultimately, about the continuity of interrupted times.’ The video where interrupted and cut-off times continue contains a daily life, yet the sound and the flow make it quite far from everyday life.
