Event: “White“

White is the dominant element of this exhibition. It symbolizes purity and light but it can also become cold and impersonal. It symbolizes lack of emotions, but it can also stress the brightness of all the colors that are close to it.
White is also associated with winter, snow and happiness as well as difficulty and cold. This color can provoke positive as well as negative feelings. This group exhibition celebrates white in different aspects of our life and photographers give their own opinion of this color. In some cases, white stresses sterilization and coldness while in others it is bright and welcoming as the colors which co-exist with it are.
Event: “Abandoned Buildings”

Abandoned Buildings is the 4th virtual exhibition organized by Blank Wall Gallery. Up to now Blank Wall Gallery has given over $5,500 in cash awards.
This exhibition had a great number of remarkable photographs, proof that it was met with great enthousiasm. Once more, artists with great works from all around the world sent their work to be considered by the people of the gallery. The fact that the artists themselves have a word on the voting process, as they are the ones who vote and not a committee, is the main reason why artists trust this contest.
In Blank Wall Gallery we have decided to keep promoting and projecting photographers’ work in this way as long as there is interest on their behalf.
Event: “Monochrome“
Dates: 1 Mar 2021 - 1 Jun 2021
Monochrome is the 3rd exhibition organized by Blank Wall Gallery. This was an ititiative we took because of the condiitons caused from Covid-19; we wanted artists to keep in touch with the people and since the situation seemed to last for long, we thought this was a very good alternative. Up to now Blank Wall Gallery has given over $4,000 in cash awards.
Monochrome was met with great enthousiasm and we had a great number of artists with great works from all around the world. What attracted photographers and made the difference was the fact that the artists themselves have a word on the voting process, as they are the ones who vote and not a committee.
In Blank Wall Gallery we have decided to keep promoting and projecting photographers’ work in this way as long as there is interest on their behalf.
Biography
Yana Smietana is a visual artist and Fine Art photographer with eight years of professional experience. She is a member of Royal Photographic Society and a member of APG (Association of Photographers of Georgia). Skilled in portrait photography, landscapes, and documentary photography. Some photos have participated in different awards. Also, she is on the list of the best photographers in Georgia (country) by 35AWARDS. Her works were represented at the Blank Wall Gallery in Athens, Greece in 2021. She will take part in the international photo festival in Crete in 2022.
