About Tom Diamantopoulo

  • Biography
I have always drawn since I was a child and always wanted to be an artist since I can remember. My dad is an artist and I guess it must be in my blood! I was accepted to Canterbury Uni in the UK when I was 19 but my music career took off and ended up becoming a professional musician and doing that for all of my twenties, touring the world and releasing three albums. Despite not going to university to study fine art which was my dream as well as music, I painted in my spare time and continued to further my painting alongside my music - learning hyper-realistic portraiture and eventually finding my way to abstract expressionism. When I was 30 my music career ended and so along side working I continued to pursue my love for art and paint in my studio in Brighton in my spare time. For the last ten years I have been working on abstract expressionism and I now do very large paintings in oil and mixed medium. I want to submit to you because I feel it would be a great global outlet for my art and hopefully be a further step towards my dream of becoming a professional artist. From looking at Artfinder it seems to be a great community of talented artists and I would love to be a part of that.
