About Swarup Dandapat

Swarup is an artist by profession (Graduated from Government College of Art and Craft, Calcutta). Watercolor is his favored media but he also expresses himself through oil on canvas and sketching. His style varies from realism to fine art, often touching the boundaries of magic realism. City life is his most favorite subject, and he captures the nuances of day-to-day life in his paintings not always as they are, but as he sees them through his own mind.

In the past, he has worked as an information graphics designer with Indian (Anandabazar Patrika and The Times of India group) & international media companies (Thomson Reuters) and MNCs like Capgemini. He has also been a visiting faculty for National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, Vijayawada and Jorhat.
