Political satire, through the ages, has contributed to our understanding of historical events, namely the First, and Second World Wars. In this piece, Spencer cleverly chooses specific canines to depict the two great opposing forces that participated in the First War. The more concentrated ink that Derry uses around the profile of the Dobermann helps to portray the role of Germany during the war.....as the aggressor. The use of grey throughout the picture depicts the emptiness, and desolation of the no man's land. Excellent work!

Spencer Derry Art I solute you! My whole life has turned into total controversial craziness if it weren’t for art I’d be in a left without inspiration. I already have a big smile painted by another artist next to my bed and I wake to it every day. This piece makes me think well .. all that is seen as acceptable.. is sometimes .. not as true as all that we want to or can be! Thank you
