  • Biography
A long time ago in the 80th year of the last century, being a two-year-old child I fell on a pencil that pierced my cheek and fortunately not my eye. It was the case that turned out to be significant in my subsequent life, but it took some time. So, I was born in 1978 in the city of Arzamas-16 (Soviet Union) and like many children I tried everything a little. At some point the sport prevailed and I ended up in Moscow playing tennis and dreaming of a career of a professional tennis player. Any path to success is very hard wok and requires strength, material investment, a chance or the grace of Heaven. Some of these components were lacking, although I have remained in sports up until now. I always used to striving for victory and for better results, so I told myself: “What should I do now? After all, there is more than enough of psychic energy!». And then as the smile of fortune I met a girl from an artistic family who invited me to participate in the “Spring Exhibition”. I agreed as I was drawing something all the time. There was a problem that I have never painted with oil. But my fears were in vain. I fell in love with this magical material from the first touch and started preparing for the exhibition. Everything worked out great and I realized that that pencil literally "nailed" me to the artistic world of art. I started a path towards a new goal. Realizing that my hard work is not enough, I began to look for private teachers to improve my skills. At first, I went to the studio and comprehended the laws of academic painting. Later I wanted more freedom and impressions and after having met Bato Dugarzhapov with his colleagues I began to actively work in plein air and adopted the knowledge of these wonderful new friends. At that time I lived on the countryside and caught the elusive moments of impressions at different times of the year and during the day - frost and sun, evening and night, rain and snow. Meeting an obstacle again, I wanted something more, but from the inside, not from the outside. But what exactly? I was asking myself this question over and over again. Then the word "abstraction" came to my mind. It was so surprisingly sudden because a day before I would not have paid attention to this way of painting at all. I found myself searching for teachers and - lucky again. I’m learning rules that previously did not attract me. The famous artist Sergei Bryukhanov with paintings kept in the storerooms of the Tretyakov Gallery and the Hermitage becomes my teacher now. I should mention other artists who influenced my work, such as Nicholay Roerich, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Vasiliy Kandinsky, Nikolai Rybakov and other contemporary artists. Today I live and work in Moscow, plenty of exhibitions in Russia and abroad are now behind. Back in 2015 I took a second place in the “Avant-Garde Composition” nomination of the Russian Art Week and was admitted to the Art Union of Russian Artists. Painting oils and acrylics on canvas I praise light and color in my works and the very process of creating paintings. You are welcome to enjoy watching my work.
