    "Taking advantage of having my own dock and river access right from the studio, I swim regularly — winter or summer. This photo was taken in the middle of winter, in a full wetsuit and neoprene gear. The cold water clears the mind and primes the body for better focus and everyday enjoyment.

    "My studio sits right across from the Haverbeck canal, an arm of the Calle Calle River. Valdivia is a city in the Los Ríos region of southern Chile, known for being surrounded by rivers — where people swim, get around by boat, sail, or simply watch the countless birds that call the area home.
