    Work in progress

This is what I painted on that huge white canvas I posted earlier. This measures 46x46 inches. Still a work in progress, but close. I've painted an extra 3 inches all round so that when it's stretched you'll see the painting roll over the edge. Such a lovely modern look. This photo was taken in my studio by a window, so there's a lot of light to one side.

Getting ready to start a new 40x40 inch painting. This large canvas has been stretched to a backing board to keep it taught while I paint. Sold unstretched and shipped rolled. This will allow for economical transport and delivery globally.

Working on a large unstretched canvas so it can safely an economically be shipped globally. I paint an extra 2.5 inches all round, so when the painting is stretched, it rolls over the edge in a beautiful modern look! This painting will measure 36x48 inches once stretched. Painted with acrylics and varnished with a clear gloss. It would look amazing in a reception, a snug, or a living room.

    Working Large

There's a wonderful freedom that comes with working on a large canvas that I didn't expect. I love these kinds of surprises.

My first painting on unstretched canvas

Although considered unstretched, I do stretch the canvas onto a Masonite board so that when I remove it, it lies flat. Unstretched pieces like this are shipped rolled to make delivery more economical.

    Varnishing a new unstretched painting

I've embarked on a new adventure in painting large, working on unstretched canvas. This way I can go BIG and still ship globally.

    New Work

I have to wait for good weather to photograph my work outdoors, so I often do it in batches. These are my latest small abstract paintings. Please follow my Artfinder page to be notified when new art is listed.

    Tools on the worktop

Some of my favourite paints and tools. In abstract painting it's good to have a variety of ways to create marks and interest in the work. So I do my best to diversify. Please follow my Artfinder page to be notified when new art is listed.

I get the most beautiful view from my studio window. The house is built in a clearing in the middle of the Canadian Boreal Forest. They say the north light is the best light for artists because it shows the true colours of the paint. And I agree. Please follow my Artfinder page to be notified when new art is listed.
