    MINIMAL PALETTE

    I started quite by chance back in 2015, painting figures in monotone, leaving out detail and attempting to say a lot with a minimum of colour. As I went on, it became more and more difficult to avoid elaborating and, in fact, "Billy and Bobby at the bus stop" (one of the first minimal paintings) turned into a series of its own and detail was added to those that followed. I still enjoy painting the original blue figures and will continue adding to this series until I tire of it - or someone tells me to stop! :) "Bathers" in the photo was my very first in the series.

    I have tons of drawings and paintings on paper. I like the freedom of working on paper; it's less intimidating than canvas so these artworks are often looser and more dynamic than their 'finished' counterpart.
