    ARTIST BIO

    His artworks have already been exhibited in Paris and New York. About: Ricardo Machado, born in 1983 on São Miguel island in the Azores, Portugal. He studied at the ArCo Arts Centre in Lisbon, Portugal. He has been participating in solo and group exhibitions since 2005. Among his notable shows, we highlight the "Azorean Scrimshaw" project, presented at Gallery Carré d’artistes in Paris, France, and at Gallery Rising Artist (Art Fair Artexpo) in New York, USA. He is a pioneer in recreating scrimshaw in the field of plastic arts. He was a finalist in the international competition "FLORENCE SHANGHAI PRIZE" and "See | Me Launch Competition" and was selected to join the displays of "LABJOVEM 3rd, 4th, and 5th Editions". His work is included in the private collection of Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos and in the public collection at the Cultural Center of Ponta Delgada in the Azores, Portugal.
