Creating a prize winning artwork for a local competition

I was chuffed this year after winning 1st prize in a local art competition this year with the queens Jubilee as the theme. Here is a quick pic of the coloured pencil artwork in progress. Last year I came 2nd witha graphite drawing so this year I felt determined to push myself further and work in full colour.

    Tiger Shark!

Timelapse of my painting. This is the painting process that I tend to use when approachinga painting. I created this painting for aclient who wanted to appear riding a half tiger half shark creature in a stormy sea. This video represents many hours of painting not including the sketches and underpainting which I began adding the colour to. I would like to thank "Alfie" who commissioned me this work which I enjoyed every second of.

    Fueled by Tea

It is always tea o clock in the studio. I particularly enjoy Earl Grey whilst drawing and Chai if I am painting something colourful.

    Painting Celebrities Live

    Painting Celebrities Live

As well as painting in the studio, I have enjoyed live painting for big events nationwide. Here I was painting Cameron Diaz live on the red carpet of the Gambit World Premiere in London. Later followed Colin Firth, Alan Rickman and of course the director of the film. The painting reached over 3k in auction for the Children In Need charity. For live events I am usually painting for 7 hours straight!

    Exhibiting my artworks

    Exhibiting my artworks

I will be uploading these two GIANT paintings very soon. They are beloved however they deserve a loving home. I have created surreal art since I was very young. I developed a taste for it after being introduced to Dali at the age of 11. What I love most about painting is the fact that I am able to explore narrative worlds and guide viewers through those stories.

    The studio!

    The studio!

Following a few ideas I found through IKEAHACKS. I have just built a brand new studio space which I am thrilled about. I began with a convertable draughtsman table with a laptop swivel plinth. The next week I built a flat file to store artworks and place my toolbox, postal tubes and materials I regularly use on top so everything is just where I want it.
