Biography
I am an ordinary guy that taught himself to paint. No pompous pontificating here, just honest self-representation and reasonable pricing for one-off original paintings.
Inspired by my life-long love of nature and the English countryside, I paint mostly from my imagination, developing each piece as it appears to me on the canvas. This means I can create places that aren't actually places and lose myself in my own little world. I occasionally paint actual places from photographs, either my own or those of commission customers or friends.
I always start a painting with the sky, using big skies to accentuate the vastness of space we take for granted on our tiny world.
I price my paintings based on materials, time taken and a reasonable hourly rate. I don't believe a piece of art should be expensive just because it is 'art'.
