I love the vibrancy of Phil Broads work and how the flowers, the stars, or the ocean can effortlessly call out though his paintings beckoning me to come sit a spell and carry my mind away to past times and places, cherished memories, or new possibilities. I had asked Mr. Broad to creatively place together flowers, the ocean, and a young boy being carried away by a balloon on a commissioned piece. This piece was very important to us for our oldest son passed away recently and as painful as that is--it was my hope that this artwork could let us be with our son again. When I engage the piece and allow, I remember our beach walks, parasailing, laughing, picking up sea shells, I hear the ocean, feel the sun and sand, I can hear my son speak to me again. Words cannot possibly express how much that means to me or how grateful I am to have daily access to those memories in the seclusion of my home. Sincerely grateful that Mr. Broad accepted this commission work and was intuitive in its' creation for it has aided the healing process.
