    In this photograph you can see me working on a new mezzotint. Mezzotint plates have been rocked to produce a rich velvety black and the image is created by burnishing back from black.

    I draw all the time. Drawing underpins my work; whether the end result is representational or abstract, it is all based in my observation and response to my surroundings. I love the allotments and am planning a new series of work inspired by them.

    I love my studio! It's at the bottom of my garden and I can shut myself away an get on with my work undisturbed. My dog, Dylan, often keeps me company as I work.
