  • Biography
    Hi, I'm Olena, a self-taught artist from Ukraine. She was born in 1998. I have a higher professional education, specializing in Pharmacy and a Master of Pharmacy degree. I have always been creative in my life, I have loved creating things with my hands since I was a child.
     
    The beginning of professional career development coincided with the beginning of the war in the country. This tragedy did not force him to give up his dream, to show the depth of human nature with his works and evoke moments of awareness of life.

    In my works, I explore issues of the human subconscious: the path of the soul, free will, presence in the moment, and the collective conscious: the narratives of society. I am interested in topics that are relevant in the process of personality transformation. I take my own experience as an example. My searches are filled with psychology, Vedic astrology, religion, philosophy. Every day, I put effort into the development of the technique in order to convey the idea skillfully.

    My previous paintings are known for tracking natural phenomena, street scenes and architecture. I notice my involvement in the situation and transfer it to the work. Therefore, often with deep themes of transformation there are simple plots with reflections on which they suggested.

    I own materials: watercolor, acrylic and create works in the collage technique. I prefer watercolor painting. Watercolor creates unexpected effects in the process, which annoyed me at first. Now I'm in love with our game. In such a partnership, which is similar to a dance, energy-filled pictures are created that have their own melody.

    In less than 2 years of professional development: more than 20 exhibitions of various formats, participation in the international plein air exhibition in Gdansk, Poland, one of the winners of the AMERICAN ART AWARDS 2022, organizer, curator and participant of the first all-Ukrainian exhibition of watercolors in the city of Ternopil in the Ternopil Regional Art Museum , which highlighted a socio-cultural issue: personal boundaries and the development of recognition of watercolor art in Ukraine.
