About Nigel Dickerson

I have always needed to paint, draw and make sculpture throughout my life, and consider being an artist as essential as breathing, not a profession. I work to learn about the world around me, working mainly from life on subjects such as landscapes, figuration, portraiture, still life and flowers. I am fascinated by light, colour and composition, and the balance of these three dominates my work. I paint in oils on canvas and board and have spent many years studying the palettes and techniques of past artists. My Inspiration has always been the truth to nature. I paint, draw and sculpt what I see as honestly as I can. I have spent my whole life learning to paint and see every day as an opportunity to develop my skill as an artist. I have exhibited throughout my life and sold many paintings in galleries and privately. I have recently focused on working from the model and have just started a new series of landscape paintings. I have sold previously sold on Artfinder and have many connections with artists who also use Artfinder to sell their work.
