About Nathalie Kingdon

  • Biography
I am a French-born, London-based artist who specialises in original screen printed Art and have been working from my own bespoke studio at Wimbledon Art Studios for five years. I like working from images collated from various sources of inspiration: vintage magazines, postcards, screenshots of movie scenes and sometimes my own photos. I particularly enjoy transforming and enhancing imagery with a love for colour, exploring the juxtaposition between shape and form and reconsidering proportion and perspective. I am most interested in reimagining the narratives of images through the medium of my prints; narratives that organically evolve through an instinctive and playful approach. All my works are original hand-pulled, by the artist, screen prints. Most of my work is large format screen-prints. I particularly concentrate my efforts on working around the journey of an initial image that triggers my imagination to the destination of the final print. I work completely on my own. The results are a very small number of editions with slight variations so each print is unique. The real highlight of 2022 has been to be selected for The Summer Exhibition 2022 at The Royal Academy. The selected work, “100 Degrees” was a sellout! What could have made me happier than having my work on the bright yellow walls of one of the room curated by Grayson Perry! I hope you will enjoy my work and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. Nathalie Kingdon
