Croatian artist, Silvija Horvat (also known under pseudonym NatadaMano) is best known for her unique style of acrylic painting termed “Frothing” she gave to what appears to be an original technique using thick acrylic paint that is distributed on the canvas and modeled with a narrow stream of water from a water sprayer in a purely intuitive process. Results are truly unique abstract and impressionistic creations.
In her latest series of “Lone tree” paintings, Silvija is showing us her surreal, almost cartoonified interpretation of isolation and courage. In this series she is moving away from her unique technique of “frothing” and from complex, heavily textured to simplified, minimalist presentation of nature. These paintings depict the artist’s acceptance of the realization that some things are better left unsaid, thus her trees seem quiet, without expression and without a leaf missing.
An electrical engineer and an inventor with a varied range of conceptual ideas has created a brand name Natadamano long before she knew what the brand would represent.
“Nata-da-Mano means to me born by hands - something much more than simply handmade.”
Silvija joined Artfinder in 2015 and within a year has become one of top 200 Arfinder's abstract artists.
