About Alexander Moldavanov

  • Biography
Only during painting do I really feel alive and free. When I get an idea or image in my head, I can’t think about anything else until I draw it. Therefore, drawing for me is a way to free my head for a while. In addition, I am crazy about the smell of oil paint, the smell of linseed oil and solvents, the texture of the canvas. I like to observe how the oil dries unevenly and this adds unusual texture to the surface of the picture.
«When asked how he knew when a painting was finished, Pollock responded, “How do you know when you're finished making love?
