This is a really cute and nostalgic painting, very summery and reminiscent of my childhood. Had a nice conversation with the artist about her inspiration, and I certainly hope that some of these iconic places will once again be open for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.

Thank you for the great review, Sandra. I wish these places would come back but I would be shocked if they did. Neon is all but gone too. I took a drive around Houston a couple years ago to scout for neon and there may have been one or two neon signs. I keep looking. I love neon signs. Melinda

I received your painting and my only problem I have with it is, I wish it were larger. Keep up the good work. Melinda, Have you ever considered taking a trip to Hawaii. It's my favorite place in the world. I'd like to see what you could do there. Study for Low Country reminds me of the North Shore of Oahu.

John, Thank you so much. I appreciate the great review. Well this is a study and by that I mean I wanted to try it out with the idea that I would paint it again larger. I have not been to Hawaii but I'd like to go. It would probably give me a lot of inspiration for more tropical paintings, which I love. Thanks for the idea! Melinda
