This is the second piece I have purchased from Mateja. Her work is beautifully done, and her portraits are full of expression and speak to the viewer. This particular piece has an almost beatific look. What amazes me about these pieces of Mateja's is that they are done on particle board which, to me, is basically an unknown background for painting but which gives the work a very unique look. If I had more wall space, I would have it filled with Mateja's gorgeous portrait work.

I am in love with this painting! The face is mysterious yet full of emotion. It is almost as if the painting is human, and the viewer wants to know the person in the paint! Mateja Marinko is a VERY talented artist, even when she is painting on surfaces that seem impossible for her paintbrush to work with. Her particle board canvas is very heavy, and I had to add additional hardware for hanging, but the extra bit of work was worth it. Marinko is an artist to watch, and I look forward to seeing more and more of her work.

I had my eye on this portrait for a while and eventually, as was probably inevitable, I couldn't resist any more. She looks every bit as good in real life and I am very happy that she now resides with me. Really love Mateja's style. Also a very nice handwritten letter accompanying the painting. All the best from the UK.

It was a pleasure working with Mateja. Her artwork is stop-you-in-your-tracks beautiful, and her love for what she does shines through. We commissioned her for a portrait and she created a magnificent piece from one photo which will be cherished by our family for many years to come.
