Martin’s current interest is in the post capture creative process. It is a search for colours, forms and hidden visions often completely unrelated to the original subject. Brush in hand, the journey of image transformation is an art form of its own. Colours and shapes are transformed again and again until the time when a solution emerges.

Raskovsky has had photography in his heart and a camera in front of his eyes since early childhood. Initially ‘painting’ with light while developing black and white prints in a dark room he built in the attic of his home. As time went on, he discovered digital photography and in turn digital manipulation. For Raskovsky it opened up a universe far richer than the analogue processes and allowed his imagination and dreams to become liberated. Raskovsky is particularly interested in the post capture, creative process. It is a search for colours and forms that emanate from inside the artist, of which they are often completely unrelated to the original subject. Brush in hand, the journey of image transformation is an art form of its own. Colours and shapes are transformed again and again until the time when a solution emerges, sometimes with a tremendous eureka effect; almost orgasmic. Since early childhood, photography has been in my heart. Until now I have refused to publish my photography, so this is the first time I come out to an art gallery.

In doing so, I have chosen my recent work in nature where the digital post processing brings the image closer to an oiled brush. My interest in this case being in the post capture creative process.
