About Maria Pesotskaya

  • Biography

Details are my language of perception and interaction with the world. Through them I comprehend beauty and tell my stories in paintings/pieces/works. Doesn’t matter if I paint people or houses plot will be read (has to be read) through nuances and details. My technique is close to realism, but I never aspired for it, I want create magic in my paintings, so that the sky is a little brighter, the foliage is juicier, and people are happier. I do not avoid flaws in architecture: rust on picturesque roofs, masonry peeking under crumbling plaster and cracks in stucco and furnishings - it all makes houses more alive and real, preserves a sense of time in their images, so I try to display everything in as much detail as possible.

My favorite materials are watercolor and acrylic. Watercolor is a very meditative material, I like to create depth with the help of many different layers. I like to find the perfect combination of paint and water, so that each stroke obeys the original idea, and for me watercolor is inseparable from concentration, because mistakes are not allowed with it. As a result, painting becomes a process of creation and growth, the result of which you can see on my paintings. I love acrylic no less much. The idea embodied with his help becomes very plastic, its development takes place until the moment when I put my signature on the painting.

We are surrounded by an incredibly diverse and full of surprises world, often people immersed in everyday worries, do not notice how beautiful the reality surrounding them is. My paintings are designed to remind you of this, look at the details on the cotton and see them next to you.
