Biography
Matthew is a Chinese artist, his career starts with realistic painting, and now gradually turn to an abstract style.
What we see in normal life is reality, but might not be true. Aesthetic, uncertainty, decentralization and mystery are key words for his art work. Basically the inspiration is base on memories, intimate relationships and feelings from life.
What we see in normal life is reality, but might not be true. Aesthetic, uncertainty, decentralization and mystery are key words for his art work. Basically the inspiration is base on memories, intimate relationships and feelings from life.
In terms of methodology, his is using color skin collages, polishing, mix-materials to explore concept of surface in an abstract form. Surface is a representation of things, but also hides things, which brings a sense of paradox. A good art work is full of uncertainty, it is painted by artist, but finished by viewers.
