About Laura Pearse

  • Biography
My name is Laura Pearse and I am a self-taught pet portrait and wildlife artist living between Norfolk and London. Animals and art have been two huge adorations of mine throughout my life. At school, you would find me in the art block where I often found solace and at home you would find me relaxing with and drawing the various wonderful pets we had. Throughout my last year of University where I studied Marketing I reacquainted myself with my pencils and oils and just started drawing/painting wildlife again for fun. What soon followed to my surprise were a series of commissions from friends for both pet portraits and wildlife and I have been successfully developing my portfolio ever since. I have been a finalist at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year competition for the past 5 years and in 2019 was lucky enough to be awarded winner of my category. I spice up my time experimenting with various mediums, from charcoal to pastels to oils, but I love to work with detail and so find it therapeutic when reunited with my pencils.
