  • Biography
Hi, my name is Kevin and I live in North Lincolnshire in the UK. I have been involved in many forms of art for most of my life. I liked to use pen and coloured inks for many years, but I have also dabbled in acrylics and oil pastels. I appreciate the work of a lot of artists, from Constable to Klimt but my favourite artist is Picasso, and not because of his art, but the idea of constantly changing his medium because I think a true artist never stops experimenting.

Having said that, after some time in the wilderness (an artistic void) I have settled on the landscape. With a little experimenting a stylistic approach emerged, and I like to think my paintings can appear to have a dreamy quality but still maintain the illusion of detail.

I take images from my photographs and sketches until I have a firm idea of a composition, and only then do I start to paint. You may be interested to know (particularly for those outside the UK) that my inspiration for my primary landscapes are the beautiful rolling hills of Yorkshire, and this is why it’s called God’s Own Country, but any other landscape is of interest to me and that is why you will find the odd European landscape or even a fictitious one.

I now use oil paints and Linseed oil, and paint with filbert brushes and the occasional use of a spatula for texture. I have stuck to a limited palette and for those that like to know these things they are. Sap Green, Veridean Green, Ultramarine, Cerulean Blue, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Umber, Orange and white.

All my paintings will be signed somewhere around the side or on the back and accompanied by their original sketch and a certificate of authenticity. I only use recycled packaging when I post my paintings.

I hope you like my paintings and if you need any more information then please message me.

    Kevin.
