    Cutting smalti

    These are my wheeled nippers I use to cut glass and ceramic mosaic tiles to shape. I also use them to cut smalti which is a lovely thick intense coloured glass I buy from Venice. Sometimes when I get pains in my hands from repetitive strain (as I cut every piece of mosaic material to the shape I want) I use my "hardy and hammer" which is a traditional way to cut smalti and other materials such as marble and stone. (I'll show you a picture of that another time.) But I find I can get more accurate cuts by using the wheeled nippers.
