Oldalahäst is a modern and personal reinterpretation by Kerstin Oldal of the famous Swedish Dalahäst (the Dalecarlian horse, a traditional wooden horse). This national symbol links to Viking mythology and the ancient Gods Freyr and Odin.
Each Oldalahäst is a unique handmade piece, signed by the artist, filled with great care and wholehearted passion, combining both tradition and modernity with handicraft and design.
They are covered by handpicked and pressed flowers from south of France, Tuscany and Stockholms Archipelago. The flowers are pressed in a traditional way, between pages of old books. The drying time is between one to three month.
