    This is a recent commission ready to ship. The client wanted this particular view. I'm very pleased to say the clients were absolutely delighted. They phoned me immediately they opened the box to say how wonderful they thought it is.

    I don't have a great view but there is a big window for daylight, though those blinds in the picture are used to filter direct sunlight when needed. I also use a daylight lamp from time to time especially in the winter months.

    Sketching at Etretat

    Sketching the rocks at Etretat prior do doing a water colour. You need to understand a subject through sketch in pencil and water colour before you really get to know it well enough. Photographs are fine for fine detail and reminding you of the subject but you have to look for a while at the subject before you begin to understand it.
